Terms & Conditions

All clients must hold and show me proof of their own public liability insurance that specifically covers field sports prior to commencing the stalk.  No insurance, no stalking.

No under 18’s

No dogs

Feel free to bring your own optics/thermals.

I will issue a brief contract outlining the proposed stalk – date and time to meet, agreed meeting place, species to be stalked, Estate rifle provided or not, outline of all standing fees. This contract must be signed and returned a minimum of 14 days prior to the stalk. No contract, no confirmation of stalking.

Cancellations.

I’m easy on cancellations; life gets in the way, I understand that. If you cancel more than 48 hours out, no problem, no fee. I’ll still get out so it’s not harming me. Less than 48 hours might leave me unable to arrange landowner consent (I generally give all my landowners a minimum of 48 hours notice that I’ll be on) and leave me with ‘dead’ time that I’d ordinarily want to work. Therefore the outing fee will still apply. In the event of a ‘no-show’ where I’m at the pre-arranged meeting point on time on the right day and you don’t show the fee will be the outing fee PLUS £50 to compensate me for my time and fuel. Naturally if it’s me that fails to show (it won’t be) the fees will go the other way – I’ll owe you £50 for your time and fuel. I want you to have that level of confidence in me.

The wounded/missed fees, immediate cancellation of stalk and tuition costs are intended to be discouraging. I categorically do not want to take clients out who haven’t shot before or overstate their abilities before shooting and missing or wounding an animal that I then have to track and dispatch.

I have a readily available zeroing and practice range out to 200m with properly designed target and sand trap. If you are in any way unsure of your technique, ability or equipment, I am happy to provide tuition/coaching/zeroing advice to any prospective client BEFORE you shoot and make an informed call as to whether we are both comfortable going forward. Deer welfare and our safety are my two paramount concerns; your embarrassment in the field is a distinct third but something I’d much rather avoid too.

Buyback option

At the end of each stalk I unconditionally offer to buy back the carcass ANY of any deer you shoot at £2.00kg (standard game dealer prices for field-dressed deer) which will be knocked off your final bill.

Example

1 x 3 hr stalk in the morning – £80.00

Own rifle and ammunition used – £0.00

2 x roe does taken – £200.00

Total fee is £280 – you own the carcass at this point.

Deer weigh 15kg each dressed weight (head & legs off, gralloched and plucked) –  30kg @ 2.00kg = £60.00

Buyback option is £280 – £60 = £220. That’s £220 for a successful morning’s Roe stalking in Wiltshire.
